Terrible....battery runs out after one useApr 13, 2011
By christimody This thermometer is terrible. After the original battery died, I had to special order replacement batteries. Once a new battery is installed, it lasts for one use and then the light starts flashing on the thermometer that it needs to be replaced. have not found a good replacement but this is one not worth your money or effort.

Don't Waste Your MoneyMay 14, 2011
By LuvMyCJ I bought this thermometer because the first one died on me and I couldn't find the battery replacement anywhere. Of course this one used the same battery (which doesn't state so on the package, otherwise I wouldn't have got it... You have to actually change the battery to find that out). I liked the shape of the R thermometer to protect from any accidents with a squirming baby impatient with a temperature check. Plus the 8 second read (which seemed a bit longer). BUT THEN... The battery died after a couple of uses. Since the battery was impossible to find in stores (even at FRY's who has a battery isle with hundreds of batteries) I got a 5 pack online, happy that I wouldn't have to deal with this issue again. I figured the original battery was for store use when people test them out. WRONG!!! The brand new battery died after 2 uses. I looked for reviews on BRU (just to make sure it wasn't my new Energizer batteries) and found that everyone else who had this same brand/model (different color) had the same problem. I don't understand why this was even able to be sold to people because for $20.00, it is a complete waste.

Don't waste your timeFeb 09, 2012
By DarceyD Loved, loved, loved this thermometer for the first several times I used it. Have a 3 year old and 3 month old. Battery died within first 3 months of owning it. I went to several drugstores, Target and Best Buy. Cannot find a replacement battery anywhere. Come here and see from other reviewers that I'm probably going to have to special order it.
Fantastic idea, great while it worked, but with all the other options for children's thermometers, with batteries that last and are readily available and usually on hand, this is not worth the time and frustration.

DO NOT BUY!!Dec 28, 2011
By Jaime L. Hoyman This thermometer is fantastic, in theory. I love the changeable tips. I love how quickly it reads. I love that it turns red if the temp is in fever range. *BUT* The original battery lasted less than one year. Not too big of a deal, right, WRONG! The problem comes when you try to replace the battery! The type of battery is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find!! Forget looking in stores..just look online. (I found a 5pk on here for only $5. Great deal!) BUT once you put a new battery in it only works once!!!!! No matter how many batteries you try, they only work for one use, then the battery light flashes and it dies!!! So, basically you are spending $20+ dollars for a disposable thermometer! What a waste of time and money!! DO NOT BUY!!!!

POOR QUALITYOct 25, 2011
By jld This is a BAD Thermometer. I loved it because of the functionality - bought the first one before my baby was born. Opened it up when it was needed and it did not even turn on. I exchanged for another one at the store and it worked great 2 times... then it stopped turning on. Played around with the battery and got it to turn on, but no display. Now it works whenever it wants to. Today I took my sons temperature and it flashed red for fever, but no display to tell me the temperature.
I have to run to the store to buy another thermometer that works now.
NOT RECOMMENDED!
