Love these- used them as a toilet lock....!!!Jun 01, 2011
By Katina Allen I bought several of these and love them. Couple of things to be made aware of:
Pros: 1- stick best on flat surfaces. I use one on our round stainless steel "foot pedal" trashcan to keep my daughter out the trash and it works ok but the adhesive definitely works best on flat surfaces 2- they definitel stay put- didn't have a problem with thes popping off or anything. 3- I used these as an effective toilet lock and they are GREAT!! put the "release" piece on the lid and the other piece ont eh bowl. Again with the rounded edges but it still stopped her from opening the lid at all. I hated all the other toilet lock options and so far this had been the best, least noticeable way to lock the toilet.
Cons: 1- agaqin, best on flat surfaces 2- As a side note do not stretch the strap too tight as that is most of the problem with the adhesive pieces "popping off"
So far I have used these on drawers, toilet lock, trashcan lock, warmer drawer on my oven lock, etc- all works great.

Good, but a little different than what I expectedDec 17, 2010
By Horror movie holic The design of these is slightly different than what I expected. Judging by the picture, I was under the impression that to "unlatch" it, the strap slid out from one side and slid back in again to re-close. The strap is actually stationary with one plastic piece that comes out from a base. It doesn't affect the use at all, just not what I had pictured. That said, I bought these to pet proof rather than for infants. I need it for pantry doors and a trash can that an ingenius cat keeps finding new ways to get into. I'm pretty sure these will foil all future attempts. They seem very secure, even a little too secure. They are a bit difficult to open and close in my opinion.

Great for drawersDec 15, 2010
By EJR These locks are great for drawers especially if you don't want to drill in your cabinets. I only wish the adhesive was stronger since I've pulled the drawer without unlocking and the lock has come off. This lock is also great with side by side cabinet doors.

Used them for years READ FIRSTDec 08, 2011
By Ashley Din I was reading some of the "bad" reviews on here and they're ridiculous.
I've used them for years...
Firstly I don't know where these people put them at so if you don't read the instructions then the bad reviews is the result of not READING the instructions.
1.) CLEAN the surface first and let thoroughly dry.
2.)They work best on flat surfaces. I use them for my cabinets since they have no knobs. Don't pull the strap too tight or it'll rip off because you are talking about tension 24/7 and eventually something has to give...
So make sure the strap is snug but not too tight when put into place.
3.) When you put on the flat surface let sit w/out touching it for at LEAST 24 hours...I left it untouched for 3 days before using it and maybe if people would have patience and follow instructions...
Haven't you heard...the quickest way isn't always the best.
These are amazing and I'll never stop using them.

Weak AdhesiveJan 30, 2012
By bwmson I purchased these recently to baby proof for my 11 month old. I put it on the doors to my entertainment center and allowed the adhesive to set overnight before testing it. One side popped off when I tried to open the doors to test. The adhesive came off the furniture. I replaced the adhesive supplied with 2 "command" strips (3m) cut to size and let that sit over night. Tested the next day and that side held, but the other side popped off. So now both sides are stuck on with command strips, and its actually holding up well. And one day I will be able to easily remove them... so that's a bonus I suppose. At any rate, I give a lower rating because the supplied adhesive didn't hold up, but with the fix these should work.
