Nice idea but hard to get good focusFeb 02, 2010
By Tony G. I bought this to get more magnification on my Headband Visor. This is meant to increase magnification by 2.5X. It does work, but the field of view is so small that it's hard to do any work under the magnifier. And it is only in good focus at the very center of the loupe, it quickly gets out of focus as you attempt to view a larger area.
I guess I can't complain too much as it does magnify as claimed, and it's pretty low cost.

A am a 62 year young man working on a moderate-sized N-Scale 1950s Oklahoma train layout. One of the challenges I have had is cementing N-Scale grocery carts together. This would not have been possible without this product. The magnifier is simple to attach and works well with the Donegan Magnifier Opti-Visor.
OptiLoupe Monocular Lens Adds 2 1/2XJan 30, 2012

I use the Donegan headset almost daily. I'm 59 yrs old and it helps allot for electronic work and any fine close up. I recommend buying two OptiLoupe lens, one for each side of the headset as it really balances out your close up sight for a better view. I just have the screw-on hold nuts finger tight right now and they work fine. I'm thinking of using some mild thread loc tite or a small lock washer too, when they start to get loose or won't hold well. But they are working fine right now without it. Work fine and have sharp focus and clarity.
