Meinl Pro djembe standMay 25, 2009
By Evleen This stand has really earned its "pro" designation. It's well-constructed, sturdy, and offers many easy adjustments some of which can be pre-set for future sessions. It's fairly compact when folded which makes it easy to transport. Costs a bit more than some of its competition, but well worth it.
Not sure I am liking this standMay 13, 2012

I bought the Meinl 12" Fiberglass Djembe (see my review of it here. I LOVE the drum! http://www.amazon.com/Meinl-Floatune-Series-Djembe-12-inch/dp/B00275G6YA/ref=cm_cr-mr-title) -- and when I bought the drum, of course I picked up a stand to go with it. I bought this one, as I know Meinl stuff is top notch. Listen, if you are a hard player and have a fairly heavy drum (like the Meinl Djembes, none are exceptionally light) ---> DO NOT GET THIS! I regretted it. In the middle of getting down and going all-out, the drum stand wobbles and shakes some. Not a lot, but enough to drive me NUTS. I sold it on Craigslist a few months after buying it, and I lost a few bucks. But live and learn, right? Still love Meinl, just NOT this stand.
Sturdy enough for an 18" DjembeApr 10, 2012
By Mr. M I purchased this stand to use with a Remo Djembe Earth 28x18 Inch, which is one of the biggest/heaviest mass-market djembes that you can buy. As such, I was expecting that I would be pushing the limits of this stand.
The stand has performed admirably. Yes, sometimes it is prone to walking across the stage under heavy playing (which can be prevented by creating a three "speed bumps" out of a couple layers of folded paper taped down with gaffer tape). It also gets pretty bouncy at times, but again - I'm putting a lot of drum on this stand.
My only real complaint with this stand is that the height adjustment can be a bit of a pain, but once you get a height locked in you shouldn't have to mess with it very often.
