valuable toolOct 18, 2007
By Marcus P. Hyde
"Marcus P Hyde"
In our small computer repair shop we often have been left to burning fingers to find out about overheating components, CPUs, memory and such. This tool not only saves our fingers, but allows us to tell easily if anything is abnormal in the way of heat generation inside the system. So far it has already paid for itself in savings to our customers as well. Catching an overheating problem early means accurate determination of temperature. Early detection has allowed us to save quite a few systems that otherwise might have degraded into an unrepairable condition through complete burnout of the CPU due to a poorly mounted heatsink for example. This tool has proved to be a valuable asset to our service.

Surface temperature toolOct 01, 2007
By George Sinnott This really should be classified as a kitchen tool and is used to measure surface temperature on frying pans, warm and cool areas on a wall, etc.. The tool is excellent, easy to use and reliable and apparently accurate.

This is Hot....May 08, 2011
By Minnesota Guy Memories of the old Paris Hilton phrase "That's Hot" come to mind. This product is very impressive. I read about it in Cooking light magazine of all places. It is very accurate even on the skin or in the air. Great for cooking especially. This is a easy to use point and shoot device. Just don't try to get the temperature of your eye balls.
Accurate and fastJan 31, 2012
By Max I am amazed at how fast and accurate this unit is. I didn't expect it to be so handy but I use it all the time.
Primarily I use this for cooking or brewing beer. I can get a quick reading on my boil, sparging, fermentation, serving temp, and lagering.
I have yet to change the batteries and it has been more than a year.
It has a light so you can use it in the dark.
It has a "highest temp" section that'll show you the peak temp since you last pushed the trigger. I wish I could invert this to show the COLDEST temp, but that's no big deal.
It can be switched between C and F scales.
You just stick it in a drawer and when you need it you pull it out, pull the trigger, read the number, put it back in. That. Is. Awesome. I use it all the time.
MicroTemp MT-PRO Digital Infrared ThermometerApr 22, 2011
By Randy P. Hart Excellent product at an excellent price. Very handy for HVAC work and auto and motorcycle diagnostics. I use it mainly for tuning motorcycles for high performance and competition use. Works for cylinder head temps, exhaust header temps, oil cooler and radiator temps. Even general use for tire temps.
