not as much fun as I'd hopedAug 22, 2008
By D. Sherman We just got back from a 14-hr car ride. I had high hopes for this toy but it didn't go over as well as I'd hoped. The magnets are too easy to lose - there are 2 in the car still that I can't find. I also found that my 4-yr old wasn't interested so I disagree with the age range. I've found that lots of toys recommended for 4 yr olds are not things she can play with on her own because she can't read yet. My husband and I had more fun with it than she did!
Nice concept, but didn't work wellJan 02, 2010
I got this for a trip with my 6 yr old nephew in summer '08 and unfortunatley there were no reviews of it yet, but my experience was the same as the other two who've since reviewed it. The magnets didn't stick well and there wasn't room to have them all on the board at once, so you were constantly losing them. Even when we weren't using the game, they didn't stay on the board and in place when it was packed up, so the magnets were all over the place. Also, they weren't all accurate to what the state's most common plates look like, so he had a hard time matching them to reality if he couldn't read the state's name on the real life plate as the car was going by. Nice idea, but it just didn't pan out.
Not very magnetic!Jul 30, 2009
By Mom of Three My six year old son loves spotting license plates when we go on car trips, so I gave this a try - the problem is that the 'plates' aren't magnetic enough to stick to the board very well. OK to play with at home, but not on a car trip (as the previous reviewer mentioned).
