Nice addition for hanging gearJul 31, 2010
By monoblocks The plastic used to make these things is a bit on the cheap-feeling side, but the latching mechanism in the design does hold solidly so far. That said, it pays to attach these to 1" webbing that is fairly flexible. These are near impossible to secure to any of the heavy duty 1" PALS/MOLLE webbing on either of my Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack bags, simply because the webbing used is so stiff. On the other hand, the thinner, more flexible webbing on my UTG Tactical Messenger Bag works perfectly with these Grimloc clips. On those occasions that I've used my Jumbo Versipacks or UTG bag as a camera bag, one or two of these clips work great in hanging on added gear such as a monopod or a light tripod. In fact, their secure performance has been so good that I've even trusted them enough to hang a Nikon spotting scope off of two of them though that DID take a leap of faith on my part and, that being said and done, I'm not sure I'm 100% comfortable doing that again. Still for the money a great add in terms of flexibility and functionality for my gear bags.

Awesome productMar 06, 2012
By The Real Deal These handy grimlocs arrived fast. They work perfectly on my pack, rifle case, and shooter's mat with MOLLE webbing. I see others are concerned about the "cheap plastic." My question to them is "What the heck are you using these for?" If you need to support that much weight, get a pack, some carabiners, a horse, or a truck. Very solid construction and latch.

Lightweight, Strong and Durable with a Multitude of UsesApr 29, 2011
By Tradecraft Maxpeditions Grimloc is a locking D-Ring that comes four to a pack. The Grimloc can be used on any 1" wide piece of webbing and is an excellent option for carrying other pieces of gear without requiring the use of a metal carabiner. While it is super light it is strong enough to carry equipment. Its break strength is 80 pounds so it will break away with body weight if caught in such a situation. I have not had any difficult attaching the Grimloc or taking it off gear. I have heard other people state that this is a problem but I have not experienced it. The Grimloc can be used for a multitude of purposes that is limited by your needs, ingenuity and imagination. The release button is easy to use when you want to open it to add or remove gear. When closed the Grimloc is solid and I have not experienced a situation where it opened on its own or by the weight of attached gear.
This is a simple product that is inexpensive, lightweight, strong, durable and has a multitude of uses.

Read the damn descriptionFeb 03, 2012
By usmc91 I hope all of you who keep complaining about how light and 'cheap' it feels realize that it is meant to be able to break under the weight of an average adult male to prevent injury in case it happens to snag something.

These things are insanely awesome...Dec 26, 2010
By trjk I like these better than a typical carabiner. You can attach them to standard webbing and instead of the load being complete born on the attachment it uses the webbing for a base --very cool. On top of that they can carry a significant load WITHOUT being load bearing (so if you get caught something you can pull it and snap it open). Great design and I use them on all of my Maxpedition bags.
