FUNMay 25, 2011

I bought these for my daughter's class for use during their yearly testing week. The pencils are #2 lead and appropriate for all standardized tests requirements. I cannot vouch as to whether it increased the kids alertness or test scores, but it was a fun motivation tool for them and they enjoyed having them.

Not loving this scentOct 14, 2011
By shopping addict I ordered these because my daughter loves Smencils. I thought they would be a nice Christmas gift for the kids in her class. When I received them, I thought there must be something wrong with them. They smelled bad, and not pepperminty. We have had many Smencils, and even if we don't love that particular scent, it's generally a strong, clear scent. My son thinks these smell gross, and my daughter doesn't like them either. I got a replacement (thinking the first batch may have been old), and the new order smells the same. I wouldn't buy them again, and I don't think I'll be giving them out to the class. So I have 100 stinky, expensive pencils.

These pencils are so fun! I have a child of my own and I teach in elementary school. All of my kids love getting a pencil that smells as strongly as these do. I use these for gift bags, awards and stocking stuffers. I love the strong smell of peppermint on each of these. I also love that each one has its own case. They sharpen just like any other pencil and they're made from recycled materials, so, if you teach, it's easy to use these in a recycling discussion. It connects real life uses with what students are learning.
These smell awfulJan 02, 2012
By mumzonline I have a bucket of 50 awful smelling pencils. I bought these for my kids to use. The first thing they said was these smell awful. So much for a great idea gone wrong. I wouldn't buy them again.

By A. Ochoa These pencils are perfect for lengthy homework sessions. Also, great for gift giving! These pencils write and sharpen very well too.
