5Every school should useApr 25, 2008
By mykidsmom
I bought these for my six year daughter to use with Miquon math and she loved them. We use them for addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. You can use them with any math homework your child uses, they are very easy to figure out and a lot of fun.

5Cuisenaire Rods: Open PlayOct 03, 2010
By S. Rose
I originally purchased the Cuisenaire Rods to use alongside my daughter's Miquon Math Program. When she is not doing math, she really enjoys manipulating the rods and sculpting all sorts of things. Outside of being sturdy enough for her to play with, it really is a great learning tool. If you plan to purchase these from an outside seller just be cautioned that if not packed well, your cuisenaire box can get smashed (as mine did) in the mail.

5excellent valueMay 12, 2007

The rods are excellent quality for the price. We use them every evening with our daughters and they love doing exercises with them, making shapes or just playing freely. We can see the mathematical concepts taking form in their heads as they play with the rods. These are a great tool for teaching the fundamentals of math and geometry through very simple play and experimentation.

4Really a 3 1/2 starsJan 08, 2008

I would love it if the rods came with a little more instruction on how to use them more educationally with kids - or even just recommend a book or website or two to help me as a parent to teach with them. Especially as a first time user.

That being said, the product is as described in the write-up. They are wood, they are durable, and hopefully I will figure them out a little more.

Good luck.

5This is not a toy.Jul 15, 2011

The Cuisenaire rods were purchased to use in my classes to teach math concepts. They arrived in a timely manner. I'm very happy with both the product and the service.
